Sold as a dormant purpurea by Bug-Biting Plants in a package with a dormant Fly Trap (that will most likely never germinate, from what I'm told). The developing pitchers certainly don't look like a pure purpurea to me. Perhaps a mislabel or a hybrid of some sort?Image

Nope not a purp. It may be a sarracenia rubra.

definitely not a purpurea, they tend to grow horizontally. unlike that one which grows vertically.

it does look a bit like my juvenile dormant sarracenia leucophylla.

I've had a few folks tell me they bought the same kit, and the Sarracenia turned out to be rubra rubra. I'm gonna have to agree that this plant definitely seems to be following suit.Image
