... How lovely are your... broad-succulenty-leaves.

I moved home recently and don't really have any Christmas decorations, I'm also not great at decorating Christmas trees so thought I'd get a small plant that I can care for long-term that I can wrap some lights around or something just to make the room a bit festive (ironically, I'm not much one for Christmas so this is a step forward for me!).

I was wondering if anyone here might know that species it is as I want to ensure that I care for it properly. It reminds me a lot of an aloe but I don't want to assume, so any help would be greatly appreciated! I lost access to a decent camera when I moved so took some photos of it with my phone before I wrapped some tiny LED lights around it.

I can't help with the ID other than to say it does look like aloe, but since I'm not into succulents (I have a variation of jade) I would just dust over my opinion on that.

I really just wanted to say sometimes to get something back that we lost, it's easier to take baby steps. So kudos to you for that step!

it's an Aloe plant. one way to find out for sure is to break off a small portion and see if there's gel inside. if so then Aloe it is. but it looks like mine lol...
