Your plant is a tropical pitcher plant, genus Nepenthes. It has different requirements than a Venus' Fly Trap. I suggest you look at the "Tropical Pitcher Plant" section of the forum. I only grow one Nepenthes myself. Here's what I do but I'm not an expert.

I give it distilled water, top watering it. (as opposed to sitting in a tray of water. Their roots can rot.)

I give it partial sun, morning sun and evening sun.

It's a tropical plant. It gets unhappy below 55 degrees F and above 90 degrees F.

It's OK with normal humidity. It doesn't need a terrarium or cover.

Some Nepenthes are OK in a bright sunny window.

By the way, welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of nice people here, and a few grumpy old curmudgeons, like me.

Good luck and good growing,
Mike

Nice to meet you Mike. Thank you very much, I'm a little stressed as the lady I bought it from told me it's a winter Venus, so I was not sure what to do, as this is my first Venus. So is it not really a Venus fly trap then?

Not a flytrap as others have stated, still a cool nepenthes :)

How you should grow it depends on the species it is. I'm not an expert on nepenthes so hopefully someone else can help ID it.
