This is how I grow the seedlings. The lamp is a blindingly bright 14K 400Watt CFL. There is tinfoil hanging around the light and above the light to concentrate more photons on the plants. The container is just a plastic food container with holes cut out on the bottom. It sits in a cereal bowl filled with water. The water level is kept to the level of the surface of the ground in the container. Cellophane covers the top of the container to keep humidity up. I noticed the edges of some of the traps turning black but that has stopped once the humidity was turned up. For grown up plants humidity is not a big deal, but for pullings and seedlings it makes a world of difference! You will notice that I'm growing some live LFS moss next to it.

Very nice setup there. I love seeing how others do their stuff. I agree that high humidity isn't optimal for full grown plants, but it helps a lot when trying to get pullings to strike or seeds to germinate. I don't usually cover them with plastic wrap, though I've thought about doing that. I've got near 100% strike rates with just putting them in my terrarium where the humidity is usually around 60%.

How do you know what percent humidity is?

I think I spotted a humidity and temperature reading device in Matt's setup in one of the photos he posted earlier...

Oh, okay, thanks. I thought I saw that too. Does it measure air or soil?

I have now moved the LFS into a lager container as it was really compressed in that small one. This container is from getting take-out from a Chinese restaurant close to my place. They come with nice lids that are opaque but still transparent enough to grow stuff in if you need the humidity. I'll probably use one of these to do 100 leaf pullings and seeds this year.
