I have been wanting to try my luck on growing a napenthes for awhile and now i have time. Im looking for a type that does great in a sunny window sill. or more specifically next to a sliding glass door that gets about 4 hours of morning sun.

Does anyone grow Nepenthes "Gentle" (Maxima x Fusca)? how would this one work?

or if anyone has one they could sell me.

Thanks in advance. Im really noobish with napenthes

I'm strictly a Drosera guy but I had very good luck with two readily available Nep's. One is the X ventrata which is N. ventricosa x N. alata. The other is marketed as N. "Lady Luck" or N. "Bloody Mary". That one is a N. ampullaria by N. ventricosa cross. These both do well in a window with average household temperatures and humidity.

These two are available at a lot of garden centers and I consider them the Drosera capensis of the Nepenthes. I gave away my large Nepenthes to two beginners and just kept one small "Lady Luck". The plants are doing well in their new homes and that gives me more room for my beloved Sundews.

That's my two cents worth. Good luck in your search.

Good growing,
Mike T.
