You use one of those glass things that water it whenever it needs water.

Maybe you don't. Put it outside and let rain pour on it. And cacti don't need much water!

Sorry for bumping this really old thread, but there is a cactus called jumping cactus that shoots out its fruits whenever something bumps against it. He was probably over-exaggerating this cactus.

We have those in arizona they really dont shoot they just seem like it though once i was quail hunting and the barrrel of my gun brushed one of the tips and it broke off and flung strait at my knee and it went through the pants and it hurt so bad to pull it out since it has microscopic barbs that make them hard and painful to pull off.

They are probably some type of cholla cactus. perhaps jumping cholla. maybe this link can help...
