Didn't know where to post this so I chose artificial lighting haha.
Anyone have any recommendations for good swamp coolers? I'm about to buy one and don't really want to go through the buy 5 before I find the right one process.
Thanks

Here's another one, but more of a true swamp cooler...

Either way, they should be much cheaper to build as opposed to buy. I use one similar to the cooler at home on especially hot days, and it makes a huge difference in a very large room.

So, I did some cost analysis. The cheapest and highest rated store bought portable evaporative cooler I could find was $209. (and uses 250W of power)

Cost of items necessary to build the cooler if you own none of the items from the video:
jigsaw as low as $25, to upwards of $100
Cooler $15
Fan $25
Elbow ~$5
2, 1 Gallon Water Bottles (with water) $2.

$72 total, or ~$147 and uses 10W to 25W of power.

EDIT: Forgot the drill... add $20 for a cheap one, or again upwards of $100 for a pricier one. Still, going the build route and choosing not so cheap tools you will get much more for your money.

Would it be possible for you to post the url for that video? The "plug in" won't play or show anything on my goofy phone.

Thanks,

Both are considered swamp coolers, though the second one is truer in principle.
Awesome! Thanks a lot cyph3r_gfy, I'll check it out.

I'm pretty committed to a design I came up with and it's half built already.. but it will be nice to know what my deficiencies might be while it's still in the construction phase.

Thanks again.

KissMegan, Have you built or purchased a cooler yet?

Cheers,
