I always remove the digested bloodworm as it really is very irritating.
The trap does not get instantly active as soon as it opens,till it is folded outwards,you can remove dead digested stuff (as per my experience).

Just take a spray bottle with pure water and spray the bug out!

If you grow your plants outside, just leave it be. You may trigger the mechanism while trying to clean the trap. Some will be washed out by rain, some won't. That's nature.
If you grow your plants inside, you may consider to take the bugs out to prevent mold starting to grow inside.
