I vaguely remember reading about somebody using orchid fertilizer successfully with their vft. Does anybody have any experience with this or has anyone heard this before?

Plants that eat animals? That's so metal.

Yes, I've fertilized flytraps with orchid fertilizer by misting them. It works fairly well, but can easily lead to rot...I learned this the hard way last spring.

Watered down strength too? I want to try this to speed up seedlings.

Yes. It didn't have anything to do with burning the plants. It was crown rot induced by the fertilizer water sitting in the rhizome and then causing rot.

In that case, I would try spraying just the traps if you can get an accurate enough spray. I read something that indicated the traps may be receptive to nutrients even when not triggered. I wish I knew what paper that was in. I've been wanting to try but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Can Orchid fertiliser also be used on Pitcher plants (Nepenthes)?

Yes. Use at 1/4 strength every 2 weeks to help induce pitchering.

Put some inside the pitchers. It's a good substitute for insects.
