Got my sphagnum on Saturday afternoon. I'm assuming that any sphagnum that was brown was dead/just part of the medium; if that's the case, then I received more red than either of the green varieties, which is awesome, because that is mainly what I was wanting. Hopefully, I can keep it alive, and continue to negotiate space for it under lights (that's always the biggest obstacle!). Thanks again, Bannister!     (rating: 5 Mr. Greens)

I hope you guys all enjoy the moss and it grows well!

I have tried different growing techniques to see which grows better. This batch was grown in a more wet and frequently flooded environment. It grows well, but not as thick and puffy as when it's humid.

I do find that layering a thin top layer, and keeping the moss really humid (maybe 50-60+% constant humidity), with lots of bright diffused light seems to be the best growing condition (for me at least). It puffs up, and grows a little "faster". I urge you all to experiment.

Oh, and thank you to those that have given me positive feedback, the favor is returned.

I've got mine covered on humidity, can it take cool temps (60-65)at night?

I wouldn't cover it completely as it does need airflow, otherwise it may eventually grow mold. I think 60-65 is fine. You'll know when it's not; it looks white and dry.
