katya_dog1 wrote::lol: You have very single sarracenia on my want list! People tend to say that they are common (except Judith Hindle) but I think that S. Purp and S. Leucophylla are a couple of the prettiest sarrs.
Even though they may be more common plants, I agree that both are very pretty. I am particularly drawn to S. purpurea out of them all though, partially because they are native to the area and I can see them in their habitats. Hopefully I can expand that part of the list before spring, especially with some sort of S. flava :).

You can see it growing in the wild? Lucky! Purps are certainly my second favorite sarracenia, but first goes to either sarracenia leucophylla tarnok or Wilkerson red rocket.

I'm glad that they still exist locally within a relatively small area and that it is a protected area (even though that doesn't seem to stop the poachers). I hope to be working with the local population here soon (legally that is). Those are both stunning leuco's and would be nice ones to have :).

I noticed that you only did 4 week stratification on your S. (alata black x flava red tube) x (evendine x flava) seeds. Eric told me to do six week stratification, I am still waiting. You said you have 26, I got 28, so tell me what percentage germinate. Might be nice to know which was better.

It would be good to know if there is any difference in percent germination and the time to germination of all those that do. Mine have not shown any signs of germination yet, but I will let you know what I find with mine.

Updated after sorting through and counting the new Sarracenia seeds to place them in cold stratification. More S. purpurea seeds were placed in stratification as well. The first four listed below are hybrids created by Jerry Addington.

S. 'black widow' x S. "ares" (4 week cold stratification start 1/17/15, qty. 27)
S. leucophylla HCW clone F x S. 'Adrian Slack' (4 week cold stratification start 1/17/15, qty. 34)
S. x moorei x S. 'Adrian Slack' (4 week cold stratification start 1/17/15, qty. 33)
S. oreophila #4-19-13-5 x S. oreophila "North Sound" (4 week cold stratification start 1/17/15, qty. 152)
S. purpurea (5 week cold stratification start 1/17/15, qty. 50)

Removed from stratification and sown.
S. open pollinated (O.P.) hybrid (4 week cold stratification start 12/22/14, qty. 28)(sown 1/17/14)
