Hello everyone.

I hope this doesn't fall under the soliciting act of flytrapcare.

I have tried everywhere to find this specific cultivar but to no avail. I am getting kind of frustrated because everywhere I go only ships to the U.S or a Phytosanitary and import permit is required which can be a lot of hassle on my end and not to mention the hefty shipping fees from places like CZPlants. I am looking for this plant because it is unique in itself as it has had no TC induced mutations and is purely stock from the wild form. Yes you can call me a nut or a crazy man but I like what nature offers in it's own beauty without anything being touched or modified by man. I am the same about all CP's as I don't like any hybridized forms of Sundews,Neps, or Pitcher plants in any form although I have an exception with natural wild hybrids. I hate asking people for things, I really do! but desperate times call for desperate measures and I really want this plant. Does anyone here in Canada or the U.S have the ability to ship to British Columbia Canada have any spare divisions that I could purchase for a nominal fee by Paypal? I will gladly pay for the Phytosanitary cert, shipping costs & of course the plant itself or even some spare seeds from that cultivar would be awesome!. I do however know if I get seeds that it may not be the exact replica of the mother plant but it still would be from the same plant and the seedling characteristics could very well happen in the wild since the seeds are from a cultivar from the wild. Before anyone goes on about saying that "any cultivar you buy from CP suppliers is no stretch of the imagination" I say take "Wacky traps" for example, there is no record of those kinds being in the wild and therefore I don't want it. This includes plants with huge traps like the B-52. Yes a B52 could be similar in characteristics to plants from the wild but in reality it isn't a true wild form.

If anyone could please help me with this or point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You & happy Growing :)!

Wouldn't that just be a 'typical' flytrap?

At any rate, you can't get wild harvested VFTs or VFT seeds because it is an endangered species and I think that would be a felony crime.

Actually I legally harvested 3 plants from Rehder Garden in Wilmington, North Carolina this year, with permission of Dan Sheret, garden care taker. What a treat to dig flytraps out of the ground! I took the 3 largest ones I could find and I am going to get them in tissue culture this spring and send back dozens to repopulate the garden.

Additionally, Dan is planning on sending us some seed from the garden to sell in the FlytrapStore. So we will have both legally harvested wild plants and wild seed available for sale at some point.

That's awesome Matt! I look forward to getting those seeds for when they become available! Any estimated time on when they will be available?

Hi entropy, Yes it is a felony crime to collect VFT seeds and plants from the wild. On the other hand Matt is a good example on how to get wild clones because he had specific permissions to do it so yes wild Tissue Cultured clones can be sold if things are done legally so they are out there.

To answer your question, a typical is any kind of variety of flytrap that doesn't have a name. For example, you could even call a "Wacky Traps" cultivar a typical before it got it's name.
