Wow, neat! Those little Sarr. babies look great, Matt.

I'm looking forward to learning tissue culture at some later point in my life. It looks rewarding and fun.

You guys have really inspired me to have a go at tissue culture - only two factors are limiting me at the moment.
1. available space
2. setup cost
As soon as I can get over these two hurdles I am definitely going to have a go at it. Those Sarra seedlings look terrific Matt, and the growth rate has been amazing.

Very cool Matt,

I am very interested, and happy to see that they are doing well for you. I am hoping to see some seeds from my Sars later and may try TC with some, I have a good bunch of flowers now, although a few fell off due to high winds, just hoping the ones that make it polinate. I'm trying to help that, but It's a bit tricky leaning & reaching over a Bog with flowers that point down.

I’d say good luck, but it appears like you don’t need it here.

Good growing

My sarr. seedling has only two leafs and is so small that it's only a blur on a macro-shot!!! :?
But soon enought it shall be looking like plant!
Any tips? Sadly it isn't in tissue culture...

Hello ;) I have recived some sarr. and darlingtonia seeds last time, and i wat to put them into TC too. I have never done this before [any sarracenia]

What medium you use? I think about using 50%MS 25g surcose/l for seeds germination, mayby only 1/3 MS.
And what was the sterylization process? I think about 15 min 5% bleach pH 7, rinse in 0,25%PPM, sarracenia's seeds are quite big with hard surface, but i don't think that longer time or higher concentrations are necessary for any seeds.

btw. what was the GA3 treatment? I will put half in 400ppm GA3 for 24h.

Regards

Yep, that's what I use. 1/2 MS with 30g sucrose per liter.

I do:
1) 1 minute 90% alcohol dip
2) 5 minutes H2O2
3) 10 minutes 10% bleach
4) 5 minute sterile water rinse

I'd recommend going a little harder on Sarr seeds because their surface is rough. Dionaea seed are easily sterilized because they're smooth and shiny. Sarr seeds are harder to sterilize.

Yep, that's exactly what I did. 400ppm for 24 to 36 hours.

Very nice Matt, mine didn't take. No contamination and the seeds still look fresh.
