So I believe my flower stalk this year was a complete dud. Its turned completely black and rotted without a single sign of growth, and the only thing to show for it is a couple of stunted leaves on the parent plant :P. I'll probably just leave it for a while longer though just in case. Oh well, better luck next year :)

On the bright side, the rest of my plants are doing terrific. I believe my slim snapper is putting out its first tall, skinny orange trap of the season! It also has a leaf that was partially broken when I got it, and is now growing completely perpendicular to the rest of the petiole. I thought it would have died by now. |-- looks kinda like that if you can image that in 3-D space lol

Hmmm, I'm so glad someone else is experiencing this as well. The G14 I just got started flowering, but then I noticed today that the tip was partially black, and I'm going to presume the rest of it won't grow out.

I was a bit disappointed because I was hoping it would grow enough so I could snip it and propagate it. We'll see if it gets at least 2 inches tall!

Does anyone know what causes this?

May have just been a weak stalk. The one my plant had was really freaking skinny compared to others I have seen posted on this site.

I had a few do that, however I suspect a couple were due to sunburn, unfortunately, when I forgot to shade them after a few hours in the direct light. Most of mine are doing pretty well though, thankfully. :) I have one Pink Venus stalk that kinda looks like it's going to develop some false vivipary, but I'm not sure. It *almost* looks like there are tiny traps starting to develop where one of the flower leaves opened up!

Right now it's too small to get a good luck, unfortunately. If it is though, I'll definitely make a post with pics!!! XD
