I'm reading a review article on the "Mineral nutrition of carnivorous plants: a review" (Adamec L., 1997.). There was a brief discussion on an experiment, where agar cultures of P lusitanica were fed Pine pollen. The pollen grains germinated on the Pinguicula and were digested by the plant. "The pollen-fed plants grew faster, contained more chlorophyll, and aged more slowly?" Do you guys think that pollen could be a source of nutrition for CPs?

Last week the pine trees where I live released their pollen, and it was on EVERYTHING. The pollen covered cars, filled my plant trays, and tinged the ponds and lakes bright yellow. But anyway, both my sundews and butterwort seem to have had an explosive amount of growth that week.... ;)
