It's a Vanda NoID (orchid). My humidifier dropped the fan & when I got home from holiday travels my humidity had plummeted & I lost several other buds that were forming on other orchids, so I'm really glad this one pulled it off. They take a TON of water, BUT no media, they just hang out with their roots in the air. I'm using vase culture during the winter to keep the humidity up even higher around the roots & make it easier to soak them about twice a week with daily root mistings.

What exactly is vase culture? Sounds like a plant in a vase with water. But you're making it sound like there isn't water?
