I'm really interested in the red varieties. I know the seeds will have variations and Thats not a big deal. If anyone has ever bought seeds from a reputable seller could you recommend them please? Thanks!

If you go to arborday.org, and become a member, you can get J.M. seedlings (12-18 inches or so) for $7.98 each. Membership is $10, but with it they give you 10 free trees. The 10 free ones are from certain groups, like I chose 10 flowering trees, which included red buds, dogwoods, golden raintree, so Japanese Maples weren't among the free choices, but if you're really into trees, and have the space to plant them, (or want to donate them), Arbor Day Foundation is the way to go.
