Does any of you have grown other, or this utricularia before, the epiphytic ones?
Could you provide me some tips on it?

U. longifolia is probably the easiest of the large utrics to grow. Unlike the Orchidioides, it enjoys having wet feet. I usually grow it in a peat-based media but it also grows well in pure LFS. It can be reluctant to flower, but when I moved it from a terrarium to my windowsill, the plants flowered each spring (same w/ praelonga) (I suspect the combination of seasonal photoperiod & temperatures provide the catalyst).

The epiphytic utrics grow well for me in netpots filled with live LFS and top-watered when the top tufts of LFS look dry. If you haven't seen it, this thread has loads of info on the Orchidioides (field trip reports, pics & assistance from many growers).

Thanks, I'm reading about it, it seems it may be a great addition to my nepenthes plants under the trees, I'll see how to tend the bird problem stealing the LFS, but maybe a cube netpot, covered in all sides, with the removable top for substrate renewals.

One caution - the utrics in section Foliosa can be invasive. Once there is even a tiny piece in another pot, you may never get it out again. When I plant utrics in the pots of another plant, I usually like to do it with species that die quite easily (like U. quelchii). This way, if there is an issue in the future, I can remove it from the pot.

I have gotten a U Longifolia made via TC
I know they eat microscopic organisims so what water is best to use
If I plant this in aerated peat annd cover the roots do I submerge the plant in water?
I have a small foil tray and read add water to the tray slowly and when it overflows to keep adding water this way slowly and it will not stir up the peat on the bottom
Can they stay outside in spring and summer getting fresh water when it rains?
How fast does this weed grow?

Well, I have not tried to do TC on it, since it is easy to divide it, they seem kind of slow for me, maybe if I had not divided it. But what is true is that all utrics I have really dislike peat, and love sphagnum, so they are on sphagnum

Same as with other CP -- clean water with low TDS

This plant tends to not be fussy so you can sit the pot in water or not. It will grow well for you.

Where do you live? As long as you acclimate it slowly during the move outside & the nights are not too cold, it should be fine.
