Hi everyone!

I'm from South Africa and we are currently entering our winter months. We get frost, from time to time where I live. Our temp ranges from about 4 to 18 degrees celsius (38-65 F) ave in our coldest months with a couple of days the min temp going below freeze point. I just want to know if the frost will negatively influence my VFT and if I can keep my plants outside.

Thanks

Richard from Pretoria

38-55F is the ideal range for successful dormancy. Assuming the plant is healthy, frost is no issue. :D

As PlantMan already said, your plant would do great outside all year. Frost isn't an issue, but the plants will do better in the long run if you protect them from frost. Of course, it isn't absolutely necessary and it really comes down to how much effort you wish to put into maintaining the plants all winter :)
