I'm sorry about you guys trouble. I had no germination on my lowes rubra x purp but I had great germination on the rubra wherryii hybrid so i'll send you guys some seedlings in the future;).

Some sarracenia seedlings including rubra wherryii copper top red tube x purp and purp x Leah Wilkerson. Purp x LW didnt have a great germination but there are a few plants.

Not wanting to be left out, I sowed some Pinguicula seed (Mexican Pinguicula mix -- no idea what these sprouts are yet) and low and behold they're smiling for you all (I actually wanted to sow them early so they get the long germination bit out of the way before the growing season)... Thank God!

Very nice Grey! i can def see them. I have to get my hands on some ping seeds. Ive never tried growing them from seed. Thanks for posting Grey.

Oh no problem, I'll take more photos when there's more to see. I've noticed a couple of Dionaea muscips. popping up also. Woo! Pings are an absolute breeze to grow from seed, just need the right germination media.

I've actually had some bad experience growing Pings from seed.
might be the media might also be the seeds.. I got them from CZplants.com anyone ever had any bad seeds from them?
the media I used was 50-50 peat perlite, is that alright for them?

Here are some of my tiny VFT seedlings sowed 18 days ago (from FTS of course!) Really love to watch them everyday. Can't wait to see the first true leafs and traps!

Peat/perlite is fine for Pinguicula seed; which species did you get, though? Some need cold stratification at rather chilly temperatures in order to germinate, some species even need heat treatment. It's all down to species at the moment, but it's also worth noting that with wet peat and warm temperatures you may find you get fungus gnat larvae taking over which can and will eat baby Pings like potato chips (even before we spot the little green dots).

Edit: I'm tired. My post makes sense even though I use the word species far too much.

I had P.moctezumae and another one, I checked before if they needed stratification and from what I remembered they didn't.
I only got one seed to actually germinate (a P.moctezumae) and I still feel like I'm fighting for it's life every day.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I have really bad luck with Pings...
anyway, if I'm going to use this thread to rant about how much I suck with growing pings
I might as well show off at how good I am with growing Drosera's
This is one of my favorite, showing off some beautiful colors under my new custom LED lights. (of course grown from seed)

There are more coming, too. Very pleased to see them reach this stage; the largest has four carnivorous leaves - it's plain adorable!

rarexoticseeds.com has temperate pings in stock. I have no clue regarding the validity of this site. I inquired about it in the CP supplier thread, but got no response. They have a very diverse availability it seems.
