My BOP is close to four years old. It just put out a new leaf last week. I just started fertilizing it so I hope it grows well this summer. Can't wait for it to flower. I had three germinate and I can't remember what caused the death of the two other ones. When I last repotted it, I was amazed at the huge root system it has. Big thick white roots.

I'll try and take some decent pictures once I see the sun again. Its been couldy and raining all week. We need the rain but at the same time a purp. division I just got is trying to flower and pitcher, so I'm wanting the sun to shine down on it...

Its suppose to be Strelitzia reginae, the orange flower. Mine is a couple years older then yours. I really can't remember when I planted the seeds but its at least four years old maybe five. It didn't really start growing the taller leaves until the last couple year. I have been fertilizing it with orchid ferts. these past year about once every new leaf but I think I'm going to start doing that more.

Yeah. Everything I've read says when you take cuttings it sets them back a couple years from flowering again and I know your just as anxious as I am about getting these to flower.

Yes, I am. Mine is only a lil over a yr old so i have a while. Mine has grown incredibly fast. I'd say its maybe a foot shorter than yours but i'm just trying to go by your pics. Right now its putting out a massive leaf...and I mean massive.

Oh, wow, then our plants are about the same size then. I have mine in a big ol' 4 gallon pot though. Maybe you should transplant it into a huge pot? Mine outgrew smaller pots really fast so I decided to put it in something so I wouldnt have to worry about transplanting.
