I'm in love with seedlings. I'd actually rather have seed grown plants than cultivars, etc. so naturally i'd have several different seed grown CPs. I have nepenthes, VFT, sarracenia, heliamphora and drosera seedlings. So, since I like looking at seedlings so much, I decided to start a thread where we can all post pics of our seed grown CPs. Doesnt matter what it is, grown in vitro or in soil, as long as its a CP and seed grown

Now, lets see those seedlings...

Oh how wonderful! Thanks for starting another of these superb threads, Dionae! I wish I had something to contribute but at the moment my baby flytraps are in dormancy.

I must ask: how do you all prevent fungus gnat larvae from chomping your babies? Maybe it's just a problem with baby Pings as they are so succulent but I'm apprehensive about trying again due to this. I monitor watering and moisture levels but my word these things love my baby Pings.

grey-my pots all get dry periods when I forget regularly to water everything lol. Fungus gnats probably hate it as much as my seedlings.

Hahah I see. I've decided to try a different media in the hopes that it'll alleviate some of the issues I'm having. 50:50 dead sphagnum moss/perlite... airy enough to keep the Pings happy but moisture retentive enough to encourage germination. Fingers crossed, hope to have some photos in a couple of months of little babies!

Cool thread.

Grey, I would suggest using perlite/sand/lava rock/pumice for Pings. Gnats love to live and breed in Peat. I have a buddy who uses the mentioned substrate and he's got incredible Pings like you wouldn't believe.

I agree, the medium I use is extremely aerated (equal parts of peat, sand, vermiculite, perlite and pumice). I have had no problems to date with pests nor any type of fungus. I also consistently top-water.

I expect I will have to switch the media more often due to the vermiculite, however....

I use a very airy mixture for my adult Pings also, but for babies I tend to use something with a nudge more moisture retention in case I forget to water hahah. Shall see how things go. Thank you both for your opinions.

I probably have 200+ seedlings of various types now.
Also, quite a few larger seed grown plants.

I just don't have pics on my phone...
I'll get to posting some later.

I have some that came about from leaf pullings but no seed-growns that I feel are show worthy hahah. I have a P. lusitanica that is trying to do its best but I'm really not brave enough to show it right now.
