I just purchased 3 new plants:
1) S. Leucophylla 'Tarnok'
2) P. Cyclosecta
3) D. Binata var. Multifida

Any advice or stories to share that could help me for when they arrive?

I plan to plant the Multifida in the same pot as seedlings of D. spatulata that I have grown from seed. I am going to plant the Tarnok in a pot alone, and the cyclosecta in a small seedling container that already has a P. 1717 (very similar to P. esseriana)

I suggest not planting the multifida in the same pot as spatulata, as they can shade the spatulata out.

Shoot, I didnt think of that. Thanks for the advice!

I thought more about having a multifida, and decided to try and switch my order. I was able to catch them before the order was sent and replaced the multifida with a D. aliciae, which I still plan to plant with my D. spatulata.

My order arrived! Here are some photos:

Can someone let me know if this Sarr is planted too deep? I shaved some of the medium back a bit after taking these photos...

I agree with Daniel. It looks appropriately potted and appears to be a very nice healthy plant! Congratulations

I just want to double check on the potting of my Tarnok. Now that it has been a few months, and the soil has settled a bit. Does it look like the bulb is coming up too much out of the medium?




On a side note: I am starting to see some new growth!
EDIT: Also, it is kind of ironic how I was just posting last week that I have never had an algae problem, and now I am seeing a tiny bit forming around the base of my plant. I already treated it with a bit of neem oil.

Nope, looks fine. Sarracenia can tolerate quite a bit of the rhizome being uncovered.

I just found out I had a Binata (maybe a few of them) attached to a sarr I ordered in the winter. I burried it in peat moss cause I didn't know it was there but it sprouted up a couple weeks ago. So it doesn't seem like there's much you can do to kill them!.
