I had this VFT for a few months, I originally did artificial lighting and it slowly began to lose some traps so I placed it in a window with plenty of sunlight.... A month later here is what my Venus Flytrap looks like


It's nearly completely dead, so I moved it back to my artificial lighting.
Now I am worried if I should put the VFT through dormancy if it's barely living.

It looks as if the plant were buried. The rosette should be visible, where is it? The soil looks moist but maybe you should water your plant according to instructions given on this website. I don't think that the soil by the pot should be completely dry as I can see in this photo

I have one that looks like this that is slowly coming back. Mine was sunburned/dried out for a day. That killed all the huge traps on it, all the way back to the rhizome. It now has 2 tiny little growth points coming back.

As for dormancy, it seems to be completely necessary. Even if it doesn't have top growth it should be ok, as long as the rhizome survives.

I tried getting it up further but there is only the roots >.< it's so dead

I also followed a tutorial and now I have water coming from holes from the bottom.
Anything else I cana do?

Time. The plants like to adjust to a new setting, each movement is a reset on the adjustment they have already gone through. As long as you keep it moist with the right water and give it as much light (natural if possible or a similar amount of artificial to a normal day) as possible the happier it will be. Each move to a new environment will risk shock, the only thing to do is check it has everything it needs then let the plant come through it.

I would put it on a south-facing windowsill that gets at least 4 hours of sunlight daily. Top water as needed to keep the soil moist, but not saturated. Let the soil get near-dry before each watering. In terms of temperature, 35-55 F is ideal for the next 4 months. As cookie said, it will take time. The plant will go dormant on its own if that is what is best for the plant.

It may yet surprise you. I had one that had no new growth for about a year. One by one the old leaves died until nothing green was left at all. I kept it watered like normal and waited to see what would happen. Then and one day it just started growing again, and it was fine.
