:| I see that there's no sticky-note guide explaining how I can take care of my pitcher plant.
Which is unfortunate, because I know nearly nothing about their care.
I'll be searching around on the forums then, but meanwhile I'd love it if anyone would give me advice
as to how I can take the best care of my plant. :)

1. Do you know what species of pitcher plant this is?

2. How often do I have to water it?
-I'm keeping the plant outside on our apartment's patio.
-My area is just starting to turn cold, (but winters are mild here)
and there'll probably be several rainy days to come.

3. Dormancy
-It has a dormancy period, right? What does that look like? :O
Is it the same as VFTs?
Do I cut off the browning/blackening parts of the pitcher as it goes?
Anything in particular that I should do to make sure the dormancy goes well?

If other forum posts answer any of my questions,
I'd appreciate it if you'd link them here so I can inform myself. :B
Thanks a bunch! :)

Heres a guide in the "care guides and tutorials" section
http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/sarra ... t1244.html

1. I'm not very good at Sarracenia ID
2. Water it whenever the soil is dry to touch. Most sarracenia can tolerate wetter soils. If its raining, then watering is not necessary.

3. The dormancy period is the mostly same as VFTs. The plant may abort its pitchers, which will begin to dry up. Some species produce pitcherless leaves during this period. Don't cut off the leaves until they are dead and dry.
Keep it in the same conditions as you would for a VFT.

No, not for a Rubra. The Purpurea and hybrids are the ones that need it, these are fine to leave alone. :)
