NIce growlist Pat. Are you thinking about adding some more Venus Fly Traps to your collection? I tried growing Nepenthes but have not had much luck with them in the Adelaide Hills, you are higher in altitude than me - do you grow in a green house or outdoors?

Hi linton, it is most likely that I wil add some VFT to my collection. I will buy what ever I can get my hands on at the society meetings. I grow all my plants in a green house which doesent have any heating or cooling systems. Where abouts in the Adelaid hills do you live if you dont mind me asking? I dont think the altitude would affect the growing of CP's.

Hi Pat, I live in Hawthorndene and am starting my VFT collection - I kind of gave up on nepenthes & sarracenia after losing a few. I don't have a greenhouse/glasshouse and was trying to grow them outside. I think that the humidity and position that I had them in was all wrong.
If you take a look at my grow list (on this site) you will be able to see the varieties of VFT that I currently have. When you build up your Fly Trap cultivars, you may be interested in trading with me and we can help expand each others collections.
You may also be interested to know that in Bunnings at Mile End last week there were heaps of Nepenthes (ventricosa/hirsuta/other hybrids)in hanging pots selling for around $24.00 each.

In time I'm sure you'll want some particular clones. Typicals are very beautiful, but I find certain traits really cool.
