I grow my Pinguicula in a bunch of different mixes, just depends what else I was potting at the time, they all have a topdressing of silica sand on their pots.

I grow my plants under T5 high output bulbs, two per shelf.

Ha! I had never looked at their website. But the bulbs are very efficient and powerful. I can't deny the results I have been getting and I also like that they do not produce excess heat.

I wonder if 4 per shelf of their High-Output T5 fluorescents would be too much. I'm toying with the idea of buying four 4-foot sunblaster fixtures with their NanoTech reflectors, to put on one of my 4-foot grow racks to test alongside the LED grow lights I'm using, just to compare results. Maybe the LED grow lights are mostly marketing hype. They work, but do they work as well as or much better than fluorescent lights, and if so, do they merit their extremely high price? Just curious about it all and might start a Fluorescent vs. LED Growlights topic in the Artificial Lighting section of the Forum.

I was actually told to get 4 per shelf but I thought It was two much. I guess it depends on the depth of the growing area.

What is the depth of your growing area, Peat? Mine is 20" depth by 4-feet length.

I think mine is about two feet deep (give or take).

I know that its not 'red' but it looks very healthy as with all of your other plants! I especially love the pic of the burmannii where the 'glue' droplets look like CGI effects!
