I read in the forum that preparation of a coconut choir in coconut industry is to use salt water if they are to remove coir from husk, but this product is husk with coir (more husk and less choir of course) So, is good for media and i must wash it with distilled water nevertheless ?

I use a fraction of coco husk in my Nep potting mixture (with good results). I went through 3 gallons of distilled water rinsing it and it took about 36 hours as well (soaking, tumble, drain, repeat). I used a compressed disc that I found at a local Hydroponics store. I don’t know about that stuff…. If it was rinsed well be for it was packaged.

I don't have yet 3 gallons (11 litters) of distilled water. But if i will try soaking about 2 hands of coco in distilled water about 3 times with 2 litters of distilled water in total working job, it will do the job ? I want to extend the time, because i don't have a TDS.
