Lots of traps on my plants have dead (digested) bug remains stuck to the traps.
I have tried washing them out with a misting bottle w/o success.
Is there a way to get rid of them w/o triggering the hairs by accedent?

I know it's no big deal them being there, it just looks gross!!

I use a spray bottle to mist and loosen the dry insect husks (exoskeletons), wait for a few seconds, then remove them with tweezers. If I'm not successful removing them on the first attempt, I wait for more than a minute (focusing on other traps in the meantime) in order to avoid triggering the trap to close. Most of the time, if an insect husk can be removed in one action, the trap will not close. Even if it does close, it will usually open again within a day or two.

Okay, thats Steve.

I have noticed that the traps I feed die and dont open back up!

I think it's because I alway pick the biggest trap, which is also probably an old one and
has used up its energy!?

Most plants are outside, so what happens to them all day I dont know, but they do catch
their own bugs (which we have no shortage of!!)

I use compressed air if they get really bad. Not the kind out of a can, but out of my air compressor.

They're talking about the left over bug remains aka the shell . . . .. . there are a few typos floating around in the forum posts

It might also be the type of bug or the size, I've noticed that ants that crawl into mine kill the trap, too hard and not juicy enough.

Talk about ants! they LOVE my VFT's.
They crawl around all over them, but do not get trapped because they are so small.
