what a vine sundew, do u mean a drosera filiformis ? i guess it may overheat from hot sunlight, u should put them in bright sunlight, for example in the morning light (not a blazing afternoon sun) and keep the soil moist, your plant should be fine after that, me also have a spoon leaves sundew that no dew at first but i was move the into the less hot, bright sunlight windowsill, your plant should be fine after that :)

I believe Joey was calling the leaves vines, I could understand why.

Just like vagabond said, put them in lots of sun, keep the ground moist, they will dew up in a few weeks.

Your plant simply might just be responding to the hot weather in california. Yes a few leaves will dry out but it's nothing to panic over. Just keep it cool a water regularly. You dont have to change anything. Your plant will send up fresh new growth that are stronger and now used to the hot sunny weather. But you didn't say temperate or tropical or at last give a picture so i cant give you too much help.
