Most sites that sell these have them for bareroot. I was wondering how this affects the plants, since most are small? What about u. Longifolia in specific?

Many of the small utrics are extremely robust little weeds and can withstand quite a bit so bareroot shipping is usually not an issue (as long as 'roots' are wrapped in something moist (although this is probably the worst season for shipping in general).

U. longifolia is a medium sized weed and very robust. While some do manage to kill it, it tends to be very robust and with even moderate care will survive & thrive. Unlike many other plants, it enjoys having wet feet much of the time (similar advice goes for U. tricolor & U. praelonga - section foliosa relatives).
