I saved a pitcher from a death cube at lowes advertised as a "Purple Pitcher" which would be a "Sarracenia Purpurea". But since everything else there was super general I thought I would ask you professionals to confirm it for me. Thanks.

Looks like a purpurea to me.

That indeed is a purpurea

You should probably re-pot your plant, as those stores usually water with tap water, so there will be lots of mineral build up in the soil.

About re-potting it... I was planning on buying perlite this weekend (Thinking it would be easy) The only stuff I can find is Miracle Grow (With added nutrients). I know that the plants don't like nutrient rich soil, so where can I find the stuff? Can I use the miracle grow perlite and soak it in DI water? is it fine? I checked about 15 hardware and plant stores and none of them had anything but peat moss.

Yea, i'll repot it on monday when all my other plants arrive. I found a perlite distributor just 20 min from my house. I'll be hitting them up monday morning

I found perlite, there is a little yard store 15 or so minutes away. I don't have to go to the other place on Monday. I now have peat moss and perlite. If I cant find the sand I might be taking you up on that offer
