you put plants in stock, because you know you ahve at least that many, and then when they start getting sold you can keep determining how many and which ones are sale size etc.

Fortunately, the Maroon Monster grows so fast and so large that it wasn't difficult to build up a nice initial supply for sale.

You definitely aren't kidding. I got my Maroon Monster some time last week and it already has two traps getting ready to open that I didn't notice before. It became a favorite pretty quickly over my Sundews.. and I love me some sundews.
