I have had mixed results self pollinating my Pinguicula moranensis f. Vera Paz Guatamala.
One year I got seeds, most years yielded nothing.

This year I tried something different.
The plant put up two flowers.
I let the first flower start to die, then I dissected it and pulled out the Anthers and Pollen.
I poked around inside the second flower with the harvested anther.

It looks like I was successful, there is a nice swelling seed pod to reward me for my efforts.

Once the seed is harvested, I will most likely do a giveaway.
Anyone out there interested?

Wow, lucky to get a successful self pollination on a Mexican Ping. Make sure the seed is viable though; sometimes pollinations like this will produce seed that doesn’t germinate.

Is there any easy way to tell if the seed is viable?

Not outside of planting it. I’ve had a couple batches of unviable seed. But hey, you’re doing a giveaway so what’s to lose by trying? :-)

I would be interested in the give away. I've been selfing the blossoms on my agnata red, but only had one seed pod mature. Gave those seeds away as I propagate this one via pulls. I'm looking for more practice starting pings from seed.

Nice pics by the way.

I would certainly enter a giveaway. To share some experience echoing Bob's, I recently self pollinated a 'Sumidero 2' and although the pod/seed looked viable, thus far, nothing has come of it (still don't have the heart to toss the pot out just yet though)
