Hello!

I just thought of the Nepenthes Pollen Exchange, and came up with a fabulous idea!

We should have a pollen exchange here, for all carnivorous plants, so the members here can make any hybrid, and so we can get seeds of self infertile plants, like Drosera binata!

How does that sound?

I'm not sure how it works, but it seems it would be hard to time such things, and I would wonder how long the pollin would last if sent in mail or such :O.

Here's how it works:
Someone sends pollen to someone else
That person sends 1/2 the seeds back to the pollen donor

I think that if you shipped the pollen in a foil packet in a cool thermos,
it would easily remain vaiable long enough:
Depending on the species of Plant, pollen can remain viable up to a week at room temperature and for several months when cooled.

That is my personal experiance

Okay yaya, I think its a good idea, and the other person doesn't always have to receive the seed since they might not need/want it.

Or they could mail eachother each ones pollin, and say one person had the pollin, and so did the other each from eachother.

When they pollinated their plants, and sent eachother each 1/2 of the seed, they would get two different types since A Times B (donor/reciever) will be different than B Times A.

This idea could be very effective.
