Man, sounds like I need to start importing my peat from the UK.

P. Esseriana leaf pulling pics from yesterday. The 2 P. Esseriana was a beautiful 'mountain' of winter leaves so I decided to pull off more than 3/4 of their leaves using tweezers for propagation. Both of the plants look really ugly now but I think it was worth it. :D

So the flower opened 2 weeks ago...
In the second photo, you can see a second flower stalk coming up and an escaped Tenodera Sinensis on its leaf.

Simply gorgeus plants! Love them!!
Hope you get a real lot of plantlets from the leaves, I was afraid when I pulled some from my D. laueana but I was glad I got almost 5 plants from 7 leaves!

Your plants are beautiful!

Do you raise Tenodera Sinensis near the plants?

Do you sell or trade your pings or your mantids??? I'm in love with, and looking to aquire, both!

btw, i freaking LOVE this thread.

edit: Darn, just saw you're in the UK

Yep, but only some of them. I raise my smaller Phasmids and Mantids on my 'growshelf' where I have my T5 light fixture for my indoor CPs. I keep my larger inverts on my desk and shelves.

P. Esseriana pullings- almost a month later. I got a few strikes but most of them are starting to rot and die off as I put them on my windowsill once to make some room for other plants on my 'grow shelf' and forgot about them.

You should place them inside a plastic bag in a wet perlite pot, that way you can forget about them and you'll get a lot of strikes, that's how I got 5/7 strikes in my first and only try doing cuttings

ya, i put my cuttings and pullings (for drosera) in plastic bags and get good results too

i WILL have a mantid or 6. I was thinking about where i was going to keep them, worried for the very reason your little chinese mantis showed in that pic!

I'm jealous of your ping collection, and your mantids. My mantid homes are all vacant, and i only have p. longifolia seeds planted :[
