I have been struck with an infestation of sorts, some of my serracenia are covered in these little white dots I assume are some sort of mite. The plant is turning brown around the little white dots. Maybe scale or spider mites? I am looking at carnivorous safe pesticides to get rid of them. They seem to be only on my pitchers and not on my other plants. They are also resistant to cold as they have persisted through some very cold temperatures. I’ll have pictures when I get home for proper identification. I’m thinking about a hefty dose of pentac or acephate or both.

Sounds like whiteflies:

Could be scale as well. I'd have to see a photo to diagnose for sure.

The good news is that it doesn't sound like mites! Those buggers are hard to get rid of.

Scale and whiteflies are really easy to get rid of. Pretty much any insecticide will do the job.

This is what we use to treat our plants:

Cheap and effective. Obviously not organic though!

Most of the plants seem to be ok with the exception of the one who got it the worst. Hard to tell since they are already mostly brown from dormancy but I can tell a difference on the bits that haven’t turned yet. I hope I can fix this before spring.
