I used VFT seeds that I kept in dry and dark conditions for like half a year. If I remember correctly 40-50% sprouted at around a month and some even after half a year!

Wow thats suprising, but these are drosera, so i dont know how long they last either

There have been reports in these forums of Drosera seeds up to 17 years old being successfully germinated, and reports out in the carny plant world of success with seeds over 20 years old. Granted, those are experienced growers, not an impatient teenager, but there's still hope. While there's no guarantee of seeds being viable, there's plenty of other stories of the seeds doing what they do best; germinate.
That being said, if you're not giving the seeds their optimal conditions, it's not unusual to have no progress in six or eight weeks. Do some research to find the optimal conditions for the seeds you're not having success with, and get their conditions as close to that as possible.

Just was curious because my other seeds sprouted about in 1/4 of the time so i just wanted to know.

There are a lot of variables that go into it. How old the seeds are, how they are stored, actual viability of the seed, what conditions they are sown under. There are times when fresh seed will not germinate. And there are seeds that have been stored properly for years that germinate well. It is the risk you take when trying to grow from seeds.
