Does Nutans hold up ok in room temps or does it need a serious drop off in temperature like a highland? I know a couple of them don't.

Anyone who says helis need a drop in temp is likely exaggerating. On massifs very high, like Neblina, you won't get too much temperature fluctuation, especially due to strong daytime winds. They seem to like a slight drop of 5 degrees. When I tried a 10 degree drop they began to sulk a little.

Helis are pissy, plain and simple. By keeping the temps below 72 deg F (not deg K, you'd icecube your plant), you will be just fine. Just don't repot, I've had them shock to immature pitchers after that.

I’ve never experienced transplant shock when dealing with helis in my own collection. When receiving plants from other growers, like Nep0260 who I highly recommend for all your heli needs, I have to wean them to my lower humidity levels (80-85%).

My heli setup goes from 70-78 during the day to 55-60 at night depending on the season. The drop helps them cope with the higher temperatures and I have had no issues with the dreaded heli blotch in my conditions once fully acclimated to my conditions

Hungry Carnivores and Jose are both correct. Helis come from the tepui which experience perpetually cool and wet temps. Ideally, Heliamphora in cultivation would appreciate constantly cool temps. However, this is difficult with the heat emitted by the high-intensity LEDs needed for optimal growth. If you can keep them cool constantly, that's great. I'm working on an entire air-conditioned room where I'll grow helis and highland neps on benches and can cool the room to whatever temps I would like. If you can't keep them cool enough in the daytime, compensate for it by additional nighttime temp drops. If you could constantly keep helis at around 60-65 F, that would be ideal. If your setup gets to 75 in the day, make up for it with 55 degree nights.
