That's so funny, I thought it was on purpose. That type of moss usually can be lifted off like a slab, I assume you do that and it comes right back? You need a flat paint/putty knife or butter knife to wedge under and it should come off, it doesn't actually make roots. Do you have moss issues on your non-pings too?

My pings are in an all-mineral medium. Everything else is in NZS except for my seedlings which are in peat/perlite. The moss only attacks the minerals. Did I mention I hate the moss?

Well evenwind sounds like the only way to find out is like you said get a dozen pings and see how they go. Obviously I'll need a dozen drosera as well as it would make the experiment a little more diverse. If there are no obvious issues then i should obviously buy another dozen of each pings and drosera and if its all good then keep repeating this trend indefinitely until I can compile all my results. It's all in the name of science of course

What I find weird is that different types of moss form in my pots and all of the ingredients are the same. Used to want moss for my trees and couldn't grow it. Now its in most of my cp pots, go figure lol. They seem to show up in the rockier soils like my pings much more than the others.

@Joshuamarshall792, I'd be happy to ship it to you but I'm staying away from the Post Office until it's safer than it is now. By then, I'll probably have a new crop ready to go.

That's very strange, those look more like roots than rhizoids (what moss has instead of roots, to grip onto things) but I don't know a ton about moss.

I don't know squat about moss but these are the fruiting bodies/seed pods/bags of joy that this stuff puts up. If that helps at all?

Yes that looks like moss. You can yank those when you see them to prevent reproduction, although they'll still spread. I wonder if they are spreading in the water tray too.

It could be by water, I suppose, if a spore floated up thru the media...my guess is it's just the air currents. But, as I said, I don't know squat about moss. Although I'm getting pretty good at ripping it out of pots.
