Seed germination - Red, Blue or both for LED'shi

Hi,

I'm new to growing but just wondered which coloured light out of Red, Blue or both make any difference on germinating CP seeds?

As a tester i bought a cheap 18W light so this may not be good enough to make any difference at all. It may also be too far away from the seeds.

PPFD for Yescom 225 LED lights?

By what I gather, there are several people here who have the Yescom 225 LED lights, which are available in several different colors (such as blue and white or blue and red).

Does anyone have any PPFD (PAR) measurements for any of the Yescom 225 lights? I'm planning to upgrade my indoor growspace and have been considering these lights but am worried that they're not bright enough.

LED grow lights and PPFD

I'm in the process of setting up an indoor grow space and have found it rather difficult to choose grow lights. There are many options available at all sorts of stores ranging from walmart to home depot and amazon, but most of them are not bright enough for carnivorous plants. Though most lights have some sort of specs such as watts and lumens, these specs aren't very useful. Power consumption is measured and watts, and ...

Do you put your sarracenia (small) under 2 or 4 artificial ?

Do you put your sarracenia purpurea under 2 or 4 artificial lights ?
I don't want to put them outside.
If i put them under 4 artificial lights, the first and the four light, will only give half of light, acording to the drawing, if the plant has a bigger diameter.

New Grow Tent

Hi all,

I'm switching to White LED's in a 32"x32"x63" Nepenthes grow tent and purchased two Yescom 225 White LED panels. From everything I read, I can't determine if this will be overkill, or not enough? Should I mix it up with supplemental red/blue LED's, or is white fine by itself?

Led lighting for Highland and intermediate nepenthes

I live in Iowa so I can accurately say that winters suck here. I want to be prepared before I have to worry about that and get a sufficient grow light for my neps. I have one intermediate (Maxima x Vogelii) and two highland (inermis x bongso) and a papau New Guinea clone. I would prefer to get an led grow light over any other type just bc of energy efficiency and I have read ...

Great value LED plant lights vs t8 fluorescent bulbs test

I have been growing most of my plants under t8 fluorescent bulbs, but about a month ago at Walmart I found great value led general houseplant led t8 equivalents. I decided to give them a try.

Image

The ones on the left were grown under the plant bulbs and the ones on the right were grown under the regular t8 fluorescent bulbs for the last month. Don’t pay attention to size, as the experimental plants ...

4000 lumens ok? Growing Neph and Drosera

Hello! This is my first post on here and I am glad to be a part of this forum! I have recently started collecting carnivorous plants (in addition to my few, current non carnivorous plants) ATM I have a Nepenthes hybrid (not sure what as its my first, and I got it at a plant nursery that sells it as a "monkey cup" and, it currently only has one developing pitcher, however I believe it ...

T5 flytrap leafburn?

Have many of you had trouble with T5 light fixures burning your VFTs?

I am running a 4ft x 4 bulb fixture, total wattage = 208. I put my flytraps under it last summer to try to escape the worst of the hot/dry summer here in North Texas.(shade cloth and lots of water didn't work that great for me). A couple of my plants did well under the light, but the majority became slightly stunted. ...
