Hi, wondering if anyone has seen this before. New traps will develop and then begin to turn dark. They never fully develop and it looks like something microscopic eats it into this sad cone shape. I have applied avid and orthene in case its a pest issue.

Newer growth is looking normal for now. No twists or clumps of stress growth.

The first pic looks like something tried to eat it. The smaller cone shaped one in the last trap maybe heat stress? I have that happen on a few traps in each pot and the only thing I can think of is heat stress. It might also be caused by pesticides. I noticed a lot of irregularities in trap development after spraying with Floramite and Bayer 3 in 1. Super arched, funnel cup shaped, or cone shaped with under developed blackening cilia. If it’s just one or two traps on a plant, I try not to worry about it. If it’s more than half the traps in each pot, then I’ll try the nuclear option (Avid 😆).

After treating with orthene, new growth is normal. The first trap does look like something having a snack. I watched the trap in the 3rd picture begin to wilt. As it was coming up, the tip started turning dark and then it progressed into the weird deformed thing. I think it was a pest of some sort. Its been very cloudy and not over 90 so dont think it was heat stress. Glad to report its all good now!
