Hi. I am new to this forum. Recently, I've bought a nepenthes hybrid from my local garden store. I have some "experience" with carnivorous plants, but not with nepenthes... my original plan was to purchase a sarrcenia for outside, but I couldn't find any flavas :(. Back to the nepenthes, I searched the internet and I found a nepenthes Rebecca soper that's very similar to my plant. I'm gonna post some pictures of the plant. Could someone please tell me if this is a actual rebecca soper? thanks in advance.

the light of the camera makes the pitcher seem pale inside, but it's darker in reality

Nepenthes are quite easy to grow, they can withstand high ppm water I. E. <100 ppm.
Since it is highland variety you need to give it night time low temperature.
Have you subscribed to Natgeo magazine or it is just poster?

Thank you. The temperatures drop a little bit in my area, so I'm glad to hear it. I'm giving it basic carnivorous plant care: distilled water only and at least 4 hours of sun-light. The only problem is that the humidity in my house is around 55-60% and I'm not sure if that's enough. The store I bought it from didn't keep the plant in a greenhouse, so it is not used to a high humidity. I am spraying the developing pitchers with distilled water because I heared that it helps them develop.( I saw it in a video from Brad's Greenhouse). Oh, and the thing underneath the plant is just an old album... I'm not subscribed to the magazine you mentioned. Thanks again for the reply.

99.9% sure that's N. x 'Rebecca Soper'. The cross is N. gracillima x ventricosa or N. alba x ventricosa depending on who you listen to. While both parents are highlanders, this plant does well in intermediate conditions and even in marginal lowland conditions. This hybrid appears to have inherited the ease of growth that is so famous in N. ventricosa.

Hi. Thank you all for your advice. I read somewhere on the internet that the leaves that cover the pitchers of the Rebecca soper curl (roll back) or something when the humidity is low. Mine did that in the morning when it was exposed to sunlight. After the sun faded, the leaf came back th normal. The humidity in that room is 60% now. I think the sun brought it around 50% in the morning.

it's an easy plant to grow, hybrids are easier for the most part and will grow under varying conditions. I have lots of S. flava if your interested, where are you located? Tom

Thank you for the offer, but I am not searching for a sarracenia anymore. My Rebecca Soper is growing well. It put up 3 new leaves since the last update. Every new leaf is developing a pitcher. I really recommend this hybrid to anyone willing to grow a nepenthes without a greenhouse. I do have to admit that the humidity in my house is around 50-60%. I've also used a method learned from the YouTube channel Brad's greenhouse. I spray the developing pitchers with water. Don't know if it's necessary on my hybrid, but as mentioned, every leaf has a nice, developing pitcher.

My plant has gotten way bigger. It's vining and producing really big pitchers. It's so tall that I actually had to change its pot, cause the plant was easily falling. I should really be careful not to overwater it in this big pot though

It also has a basal shoot that started growing a few 5 cm pitchers... Decent, but so small compared to the 15 cm ones made by the mother plant
