Nepenthes Peltata problem, please help!

Hello,
I have received N. Peltata from a online store and it seems like the stem has been cut. I have never before received nepenthes like this... Can this be a problem?
I have been told that Nepenthes can only be cut when the basal shot appears..this one doesn't have one.

A closer photo would be better but my guess is the growth point just snapped off in shipping. If so it will be fine. When it gets over shipping shock it will put a new leaf from the center of the snapped one.

That's just the developing leaf that's been broken, the growth point is fine. The damage must have happened either during packaging and shipping. It does unfortunately happen and you'll get an ugly partially-formed leaf or two, but the plant will be back to normal in no time.
