So I rescued this nep from a hardware store. I know what it was sold as but after seeing the first pitchers I am a little skeptical. I was hoping to play a game and see what everyone thought and then I'll tell you what it was sold as. Here goes

Looks like a ventricosa if not ventrata

It's a ventrata. I believe ventricosa mature pitchers typically don't have the 'wings', though some younger pitchers can. The shape also looks more like ventrata.

Ok it was sold as an Alata. But I never noticed an alata with a toothy peristome like this so ventrata makes sense

It is common for N. ventrata to be sold as N. alata. Mine was (mis)labeled the same way. The true alata is much harder to find, and won't be found in big box stores.
