by Mpott302 » Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:08 am

I’ve searched a few different phrases to try and get as much info as I can and avoid starting a new thread but either I’m being lazy and not looking hard enough or there’s not much there.
I’m
Just curious what everyone prefers to do and has most success with when getting a vine cutting to root. Plant it (mines in LFSM) or keep it in a cup of water

Both work equally as well for me. The advantage of water is you can see the roots develop. What species are you doing?

One is a ventrata. The other didn’t have any pitchers when I received the cutting but I think it’s also ventrata

I chose to put the cuttings in water so I can see the progress. Hopefully in a couple months I have some nice roots

I’d suggest putting them in a ziplock bag to keep humidity high. Open it for a few minutes each day to get some fresh air in there.

Just give it some time. I've had Nepenthes take as long as 3 months!
Edit: As long as they aren't brown, keep waiting... You never know!

Thanks. They aren’t brown. I’m doing my vest to be patient, I was just hoping I’d see SOMETHING by now
