I was just curious if anyone knows what insects the remaining wild VFTs eat the most? (E.g. a particular fly, ants or anything else etc)

I would say Flys, Ant's pretty much any insect native to the US in the southern states. Try Google, it works miracles :)

It depends on the vft. The young ones subsist on a diet of small ants, soil gnats, springtails...the bigger ones get flies and crawling bugs. I have heard that flies are the main prey of adult flytraps, but crawling insects get caught too.

Ok cool, I just wasn't sure because obviously it's called the Venus FLY Trap but with it being so low to the ground I figured it would have naturally caught more crawling insects than flies. Do they attract with smell as well or is it purely visual?
