I guess a small spider took up residence on one of my Ventrata. Nothing to worry about or should I remove it? I think I heard some spiders form a sort of symbiotic relationship with neps in the Wild. Is this something like that? Would a species of spider in North Carolina even do that with a nep?

It's fine. You can remove it or you can leave it. I have stuff like this happen on my VFTs and sundews. I've heard they form symbiotic relationships as well, but I don't think that is what that spider is doing. There was a little crab spider in one of my pitchers hanging out in the morning, then when I looked in the pitcher later that day, it was in the fluid in the bottom. I've heard spiders that have that relationship use silk on the outside of the pitcher to keep from falling in, and I don't think these spiders know how to do that.
