Does the sundew (Drosera Capensis ) self pollinate or does it need help from insects? Can It kill moths? ( sorry for the random question! ) also, I have three of the parts where it reproduces and one is flowering, I have one through that is rather low down, do I cut it off? Also, do I cut off the dead parts of the sundew? And last, can I feed it myself or can it only catch bugs by itself? Thank you so much everybody for the support and help! Thanks, Bye! :)

1) Cape Sundews are very efficient at self-pollination. A healthy plant will produce thousands of seeds.

2) Yes, Drosera capensis is capable of capturing and killing small moths.

3) Not sure I understand question. Send photo when you can.

4) I normally do no cut off old dead leaves from my plants, unless I plant to photograph them.
Some people like to keep their plants nicely trimmed.
This one is up to personal preference.

5) This one is also decided by personal preference.
I normally let my collection catch their own bugs.
But if I kill a bug inside the house, I'll give one of my Sundews a treat.
Most CP can live with very few captured insects, but some growers like to feed their plants often.

Well I meant where it will flower and have seeds but I was in a rush ha! I’m so sorry.

If you want lots of seeds, let all 3 flower scapes grow.
It will not hurt the plant to let all of them do their thing, assuming the plant is halfway healthy.
You can always give it a treat, catch a bug and feed it to your plant.

Can I jump in here and ask a couple more related questions- how do you know when the flowers have been pollinated and are going to seed, and when can you cut them off and store the seed pods (so that they don’t drop seeds through your other pots)?
