I left my sundews outside to freeze the pot was sitting in water and the water froze solid. My question is do you think they are going to die?

They are pretty tuff plants. Give them some time and some TLC and they may come back.

The above-ground growth is most likely dead.

But Drosera capensis will very often start growing from its roots again.

My suggestion is this: Leave it alone, don't mess with it. Keep a tiny bit of water in the tray. Give it a few months. It should grow back from the roots.

Like Mike said capensis is known to grow back from the root stock when the above ground plant dies off.

Here's some hope for you, this was a dual growth point capensis that was attacked by aphids. You can see the two dead growth points, for now.

I had some of the teensy-tiniest seedlings that we let dry out completely under lights, they had a single root hair on them, they almost all came back to life with normal care.

So I read a reply some where that said the fastest way that a d. Capensis could be propogated is with a root cutting placed in a plastic bag? is it a good idea to do something like this now? All I know is flies and rain and sunshine

I had 3 d. Capensis freeze by accident and after about a month they all 3 are coming back from new growth that is coming out of the top.
